Monteregio di Massa Marittima Doc Link to product report Although of recent recognition the controlled denomination of origin Monteregio di Massa Marittima is indicative of a centuries-old tradition in the cultivation of vines. The territory in which it is produced is full of historical references, in particular Massa Marittima, a jewel, and the other medieval villages that dot the northern part of the Grosseto Maremma. And it is on these green hills that the wines of the controlled denomination of origin Monteregio, eight types including white, red, new, rosé and vin santo that represent an important productive reality in the local agricultural panorama, are produced. How it is consumed White Monteregio di Massa Marittima can be enjoyed with fish-based dishes, in particular molluscs and shellfish, and with simple dishes such as marzolino, rice soup, acquacotta. Its recommended serving is in flared wineglasses at 8-10°C. The Red type instead can be savoured with red and white meat dishes and very savoury pasta dishes. It should be served in bordeaux wineglasses at 16-18°C. The Vin santo is ideal as a desert wine with the traditional Tuscan deserts and dry pastries. It should be served in small wineglasses at 10-12°C. How it is conserved To conserve the wines of this controlled denomination of origin correctly, they should be stored horizontally on wooden shelves, in dark places, at a constant temperature of 10-15°C. It is also important that humidity be of around 70-75%, to prevent the corks from drying.
